#SAVEFAITHCATHERINE

One day I was approached by my colleague and friend to like and share the Facebook page of her niece, born a micro-preemie (premature babies born at 23-24 weeks). My friend was sharing how costly the hospitalization is; she and her family are burdened not only financially but also emotionally.

She forwarded the page and I felt compassion on the little soul upon seeing her pictures and its description.  I thought “how can this little angel suffer much at an early age?” As a new mother, I can somehow relate to their pain seeing their daughter suffer. I felt the same when I saw my daughter having lot of needle scars over her hands and feet (she was diagnosed with blood infection and has to stay at the hospital for 5 days for antibiotics, please read Being a New Mom to a Beautiful Soul). I am thankful to our Lord that our baby was able to recover. That was only five (5) days for us, how much more is 120 days for them??? But I know that God’s thoughts are higher than out thoughts neither his ways our ways. There is a greater purpose why it happened to them, so that God’s glory will be revealed.

In their FB page, her brother and his wife narrated their story and are trying to raise money for the medical expenses/ hospitalization cost of their daughter Faith Catherine who was born only six (6) months old and currently admitted at Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) in Philippine Children’s Medical Center, Quezon City, Philippines.

What I admire about the couple is their faith and strength despite the trials they faced. Instead of giving up, they do their best to provide for whatever Faith Catherine needed. Since the hospitalization in the Philippines is very expensive and didn’t want to put more load in their family, they used the internet to reach out to as many people as possible to support them through prayers, sharing their page and providing them financial blessing.

Through their page, they inspires other people like me to love and care unconditionally, keeping the faith during the storms in life, trusting God even though we don’t understand, being grateful each day that we and our family are healthy, and a lot more. I encourage you to follow their page and appreciate people and life more.
