SEVENTH CURE TO A LEAN PURSE: INCREASE THY ABILITY TO EARN

“Cultivate thy own powers, to study and become wiser, to become more skillful, to so act as to respect thyself. Thereby shalt thou acquire confidence in thy self to achieve thy carefully considered desires.”

One of the most vital remedies for a lean purse is not gold but ourselves.

Preceding accomplishment must be desire. Your desire must be strong and definite. General desires are but weak longings, wishful thinking as they say. For a man to wish to be rich is of little purpose. For a man to desire five pieces of gold is tangible desire which can press to fulfillment.  In learning to secure his one definite small desire, he has to train himself to secure a larger one. This is the process by which wealth is accumulated: first in small sums, then in larger ones as a man and becomes more capable.

Desires must be simple and definite. They defeat their own purpose should they be too many, too confusing, or beyond a man’s training to accomplish.

These simple and definite desires will fuel you to better yourself.

The more wisdom we know, the more we may earn. The man who seeks to learn more of his craft shall be richly rewarded. Always do the affairs of man change and improve because keen-minded men seek greater skill that they may better serve those upon whose patronage they depend. Therefore, it is encouraged that all men to be in the front rank of progress and not stand still, or they be left behind. Many things come to make man’s life rich with gainful experiences.

We should grow ourselves by continuously learning. We should invest on ourselves as we are our greatest asset. What we know and our skills are what we are going to be paid for.

In our world today, we have an overload of information available at the tip of our finger. The internet is a powerful tool that we can use to gain knowledge and skills; we just have the desire to learn. In the end it is up to us if we want to develop ourselves and we don’t have an excuse not to know things.

As we grow in age and experience, we should realize the importance of being updated in all areas of our life. We should add value to our company so that if we ask for increase or promotion, we don’t need to explain why we deserve it, they would know. Or if it is a business, we should give value to our customers by being innovative in our products and services so they would keep on coming back to us.

We should not take learning for granted. I was there; I was stuck with what I know, until what I know is outdated. I become comfortable with what I know. I became idle and this in turn made me lazy. So in order to avoid that, I have to be active in all areas of my life; physical, social, emotional, spiritual and mental.

I am starting all over again by empowering myself through this blog. Of course, first of all, I need to be guided by God in His wisdom (where all wisdom comes from). I need to go out from my comfort zone. I should know my skills/talents and start sharpening them. I should also need to surround myself with people that will inspire, challenge and make me grow. And I should be prepared to grow, because if I am not ready, it will not come.

I hope that you learned something from my blog and inspire you to keep on reaching your dreams.

I pray for abundance in all areas of our life.
