MY CHICKEN TERIYAKI RECIPE

Here in UAE, chicken is the most available and affordable meat you could find in every supermarket or grocery stores. Most of the time, you will always find it on sale items. You will also notice that in every occasion you will find chicken dishes cooked in different way. That maybe is the reason why I have chicken skin (just kidding).

The recipe below is my own version of chicken teriyaki. I once cooked it while following a cooking show, but some of the ingredients were not available so I just substitute it for some ingredients that are available and affordable. I hope that you would like it.

INGREDIENTS:
For Frying:
1 kg                       Chicken
1 cup                    Cornstarch
Salt & Pepper

½ cup                  Honey
1 tbs                     Vinegar
1 tbs                     mustard sauce
1 tbs                     Brown/white sugar
2 tbs                     Sesame seeds (toasted)
Dried Chili flakes (depending on your desired hot flavor)

PROCEDURE:
1.      Cut the chicken into bite/small size.
2.     Clean & wash properly and dry in a strainer.
3.      Sprinkle salt and pepper on the chicken.
4.     Coat with cornstarch.
5.      Deep fry.
6.     Once done with the first frying, fry again another time (the same oil) to maintain and make it crispier.
7.      In a saucepan, heat oil and then add garlic.
8.     When the garlic is golden brown, add in chili flakes, soy sauce and honey.
9.     Let it boil.
10. Once boiling, add the vinegar, mustard sauce and brown sugar.
