HAPPY HEART’S DAY!

Love is in the air. When the month of February starts, I can hear people say that it is the love month and feel excited about it. Well it is! May it be for couple or single (taken or available), the love month really make some noise. Facebook is full of “hugot lines” and it targets to tease most of the single ladies. J

Before the actual heart’s day, I know that my husband is preparing something special. I know him quite well and he cannot keep his excitement on himself so most of the time I can sense his plans. Although I don’t know the details but I know he is arranging something similar to what I am thinking. J

February fourteen came and he did surprise me with a dozen flowers with matching chocolates and treated me to dinner at the Mezzaluna. It is fine dining restaurant serving Italian, Mediterranean cuisine located in Emirates Palace. I felt special. J He made a reservation and the lady escorted us to our seat and given me a rose customary during heart’s day (ladies are special during this day J)

Honestly, I don’t want to go to expensive restaurants since I am thinking about our finances, but he told me that this just happens once in a while so I just need to relish the night and order the dish without looking at the price (wow ha! J). So that’s what I did. Hahaha…

We ordered Buffalo Mozzarella, tomatoes on the vine and basil with pesto sauce (Caprese) as our salad; grilled salmon, “Sicilians” eggplant cream, sweet garlic sauce and crispy fennel (Salmon grill) and  “Taggiasca” olives crusted lamb rack, stuffed baby vegetables and lamb jus (Lamb Rack) as our main menu; and Coconut kiss, Bavarai and water as our beverages. I especially like the salad, it is so tasty. The main course is good. Overall, the food experience is amazing and the ambiance is nice and quiet. They also offered us free desserts because of the occasion.

We had a wonderful time. Although the restaurant had a much better setting outside where you could see the ocean; but we prefer to stay indoors because of the weather (sand storm at that time).

Some things that I realized in that date is that sometimes I need a “time-out” on the attitude of frugality and enjoy things that I don’t experience most of the time. I have to treat myself once in a while. I am being pre-occupied of saving enough money that sometimes I overdo it. Oftentimes I hinder myself from savoring the things life has to offer because of a tight budget and/or saving for the future but I don’t know what the future brings and I might be missing the chances of enjoying the beautiful life today because of my focus for tomorrow. I should know how to balance, may God give me the wisdom on this.

A break also allows me to appreciate wonderful opportunities God has given me and enjoy them once in a while to be refreshed and lighten up the burden resulting in a more motivated attitude to pursue our goals. The idea of eating or shopping or buying things without looking at the price is actually exciting but I know that it is not all that when I reached financial abundance, it is meant to be shared to others.

Most of all, I realized and felt that I am really loved and appreciated by my husband. Although he usually shows it but this time he displayed it in a more special way. YYY I thank God that He has given me such a wonderful and loving husband. J

What is your idea of love? Whatever situation (married, broken-hearted, single etc.) you have during the hearts season, remember that you are not alone because God loves you and me unconditionally, in every season and every day. So cheer up, we have the greatest love that knows no boundaries.

Happy heart’s day once again J

God bless us more JY
