THREE WAYS ON HOW TO MEMORIZE BIBLE VERSES

Every week in our prayer meeting, we are encouraged everyone to memorize a Bible verse to be used as a weapon in the attacks of the enemy. Just like what Jesus did when he was tested in the wilderness (Matthew 4)... he used the Word of God to fight the devil until Satan was defeated.

At first, I find it difficult to memorize a verse and even though sometimes I memorize it, I easily forget it after that day. But overtime, I found some steps in order to memorize verse and retain it in my head.

1.      Understand the verse. It is easy to memorize verses if you understand what it means. Just memorizing it alone for the sake of memorizing it will give you a hard time remembering it. When you know the thought that it is trying to say to you, it would be a lot easier.

2.     Write it down in a notebook. Once you started to memorize it, write it down in a notebook or paper. This will help you see the mistake you made while memorizing the verse.

3.      Post the written verse anywhere that you can see it. It is easy to remember things when you see it all the time. Do this in the verse you would like to recall. Post it in your working station, stick it in your fridge or make it as a wallpaper in your phone/computer or write it in your notebook etc., put it anywhere where you would be reminded of it. You wouldn’t notice but you would easily memorize it.

There you have it. I hope that this will help you in memorizing your next Bible verse. Keep on memorizing the Word of God, it will help you greatly (more than you can ever imagine).

God bless us more!

“Do not let this book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you will be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.”  - Joshua 1:8
